Steel Buildings Codes
Global Industries follows universally accepted codes of practice in the analysis, design and fabrication of its pre-engineered buildings. GIE is familiar with and is capable Of designing and fabricating in accordance with many accepted international codes including, but not limited to European Norms (EN), British Standards (BS), Uniform Building Code (UBC), American National Standard Institute (ANSI).
- Metal Buildings Manufacturers Association (MBMA)
- Metal Building Systems Manual (MBSM)
- American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI)
- American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC)
- American Welding Society (AWS)
Pre-Engineered Steel Buildings
A pre-engineered buildings is a building structure that consists of pre-fabricated factory components that are combined together and engineered structurally so that each component works together. Global Steel Buildings can have a clear span over 60m wide. Global Steel Buildings are easily and conveniently erected. The structures are strong, easy to build and economically priced. All structural pieces come pre-drilled and pre-cut ready for assembly - no welding required. Global Steel Buildings are shipped with erection drawings and the
knowledgeable staff can answer any questions you may have during assembly. Pre-engineered
buildings, depending on complexity, are usually shipped within 6 - 8 weeks from the time the
drafts are approved.
Conventional Steel Buldings
When choosing to construct a large steel structure, conventional steel buildings offer the conve--
nience of building as wide as you would like with columns or posts in place to maintain structural
integrity of the building. Malls, hospitals and office buildings usually use this type of structure.
Open Joist Steel Buildings
Standard steel joists and joist girders are crucial, tried-and-true components of your roofing and
flooring building system. Our joists and girders are engineered and manufactured in accordance
with the specifications of the Steel Joist Institute. New Millennium specialists can provide early design and engineering assistance to help your project reach its most cost-effective and performance-optimized potential.
Joist girders serve as primary framing members with simple spans to support concentrated loads for a roof or floor system. These concentrated loads often include standard steel joists that are in turn supporting steel roof or floor deck. The open-web design of steel joists and joist girders introduce a range of cost and performance advantages: reducing project weight; allowing for seamless integration of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems; and making erection
easier and faster. Individually and combined, those benefits save time and money. Many of these same benefits can be realized in multi-story construction applications with composite joists and
deck.
Truss Steel Buildings
GIE also is a steel truss manufacturing company that strives to produce the best steel trusses in
the industry. Using only certified welders, we weld (not burn) our trusses with American steel
angle iron. Once inspected personally by the owner, our trusses are dipped in an asphalt-based coating for maximum longevity and consistency. We want to ensure that you will get the trusses you need in the time-frame and quality you expect.
- Steel trusses are strong.
- Steel trusses are also easier to install.
- Steel trusses are generally cheaper due to less components needed
- Steel trusses allow higher clearance on the gable ends.
- Steel trusses are built in halves and bolted together in halves so this also makes them easier to ship.
Multi-Story Steel Buildings
In the vertical and horizontal directions of the
building, the steel frame structure is used as the
structural system for load-bearing and lateral force resistance. The connection between steel beams and steel columns can be rigid, semi-rigid, or hinged. The load-bearing capacity and lateral force resistance of this structure are provided by the rigid-connected frame suitable for systems with large column spacing and no support. In Steel Structure Multi-story Building the frame structure is flexible and diversified in plan layout, without load-bearing walls, providing a larger indoor space for the building. At the same time, the building functions are easy to meet, the space usage is more convenient and flexible, the building facade design is also relatively free, the structural components are easy to standardize production and construction.
